Air Fryer Hard Boiled Eggs are great to make for easy meal prep and are a tasty snack especially if you are eating low carb.

Hard boiled eggs in the air fryer can be used for so many things like deviled eggs, egg salad or this Keto snack box. I love making a big batch of them and use them for meal prep for the week.

Why you will love these eggs

Easy – I have been enjoying cooking with my air fryer so much. It makes cooking quick and easy, including these eggs.

No Stove – Forget turning on the stove, just pop the eggs in the fryer basket and press start. All you need is a quick ice bath for super easy to peel eggs.

Protein – These eggs are a great source of protein and can be eaten on their own or used for a recipe.

  • Prepare: Start by placing eggs in the air fryer basket. This recipe is good for any amount of eggs that will fit in the fryer.
  • Cook: Set the temperature to 260 degrees and timer to 15 minutes. If you prefer your yolks a little harder, add 1-2 minutes to cooking time.
  • Ice Bath: Place the eggs in a bowl of ice water and let cool, about 5 minutes.
  • Serve: Peel and eat. You will not believe how easy they are to peel!

Do air fryer eggs cook faster than on the stove?

They cook in about the same time. The nice thing about the air fryer is that you can set the time and go do something else instead of hanging out by the stove waiting for them to boil.

Recipe tips for perfect hard boiled eggs

  • Each model of air fryer is slightly different. I have found that this time and temperature works well but I would suggest testing 1-2 eggs to make sure the center is cooked to your preference.
  • If you like a slightly harder yolk try 16-17 minutes, if you like slightly softer try 14 minutes.
  • Don’t worry if you have little brown spots or bits on your eggs. It happens to me even if my air fryer is super clean. If you are using these for Easter eggs, wipe them off after you remove them from water bath.
  • Don’ forget the ice bath so that the cooking process stops and also allows the egg contract and pull away from the shell making it easier to peel.

How to store

These eggs can be refrigerated for about one week. You can store them with the shell on or if they are peeled, store them in a container covered with a damp paper towel. They should not be stored at room temperature.

Can hard boiled eggs be frozen?

You can freeze the hard boiled yolks but the whites do not hold up well when frozen. They become tough.

Best air fryer to use?

There are many different models on the market today. I have been using the Cosori 5.8 quart and really enjoy how it works. You can read my full Cosori review to see if it might work for you. A few others that have great ratings are:

Ninja XL Air Fryer – 5.5 quart with several different functions.

OMORC – 5.8 quart with LED touchscreen.
