My recipe for air fryer mushrooms is so simple, tastes amazing, and great for an easy side dish. You only need a few ingredients to make this recipe. Serve these mushrooms as an appetizer, side dish, or incorporated into a main dish.

I’m not ashamed to say that I have been known to eat a whole batch of air fryer mushrooms by myself in one sitting – they are that good! They are so tasty, easy to make, and pair will with a wide variety of dishes.
Every time I make these mushrooms, they disappear almost instantly. I have learned my lesson and now almost always make a double batch.

- Clean: Clean the mushrooms and then cut them in half, quarters, or you can leave them whole.
- Season: Place mushrooms in a bowl. Add olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings. Toss gently to coat.
- Cook: Place the mushrooms in the air fryer basket. Spread them out in a single layer. Cook them at 380 degrees F for about 8 minutes, depending on the size of the mushrooms.

How to clean mushrooms
Make sure not to clean the mushrooms until you are ready to cook them. Mushrooms can become a little slimy if they get too wet.
To clean, use a damp paper towel and gently rub the dirt off the mushroom caps. If they are really dirty, place the mushrooms in a colander and rinse them off, being sure not to soak them with too much water.
I also like to remove the stem completely but feel free to keep them on if that is your preference.
Heather’s recipe tips
Even though this recipe is super simple, here are a few tips so that they turn out perfect every time.
- The size of the mushrooms will determine the cook time. I like to cut the mushrooms in quarters. You can also cut them in half or even leave them whole. If you cook them whole, you might need to increase the cooking times by 2-3 minutes.
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket. Try to spread the mushrooms out in a single layer.
- Try changing the seasoning. You can use different seasonings like Italian seasoning, Montreal seasoning, seasoned salt, or garlic salt to add more flavor.
Air fryer mushrooms variations
There are a few ways to add a little something extra to these mushrooms. Here are a few suggestions:
- Seasonings: Try changing to the seasonings like onion soup mix seasonings, Italian seasonings, Montreal seasonings, and more.
- Cheese: I like sprinkling a little Parmesan cheese or bleu cheese over the mushrooms after they cook.
- Herbs: Try topping with fresh herbs like parsley, cilantro, or rosemary.
Storage
Store any leftover air fryer mushrooms in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They will last 2-3 days.
Freeze the mushrooms for up to 3 months.
