Air fryer turkey meatballs in a white bowl

These air fryer turkey meatballs can be used in so many ways. I am no stranger to a good meatball like these Basic Meatballs, Parmesan Pesto Chicken Meatballs and Porcupine Meatballs

If you like baked turkey meatballs you will LOVE these air fryer meatballs. I have been using my air fryer almost everyday. It crisps foods perfectly on the outside and keeps it juicy and moist on the inside.

Ingredients Needed: ground turkey, egg, panko bread crumbs, soy sauce and parsley

Why this Recipe Works

  • Making these in the air fryer makes for easy cleanup, no oven required and fast!
  • Can be used for many different meals.
  • Using ground turkey is a good source of lean protein.

HOW TO MAKE AIR FRYER TURKEY MEATBALLS

  • Mix together ground turkey, egg, panko crumbs, parsley and soy sauce until combined.

Ingredients for turkey meatballs in a bowl

  • Roll the mixture into small, 1-inch balls.
  • Spray the air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray. Put half of the meatballs in the basket.
  • Air fry at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. I like to stop at the 5 minute mark and flip meatballs over. Cook for additional 5 minutes.

  • Set cooked meatballs aside and place the other uncooked meatballs in the air fryer. Cook for 10 minutes.

Tips for the Perfect Meatball

  • Don’t over mix to ensure tender meatballs.
  • Add 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning to the mix for Italian turkey meatballs.
  • Be sure not to crowd the air fryer basket. Cook in two batches to ensure they get cooked evenly.

CAN YOU FREEZE TURKEY MEATBALLS

Yes! Cook the meatballs and let them completely cool. Place them on a baking sheet and freeze until solid. Place the frozen meatballs into a freezer safe bag or container.

When ready to cook, thaw meatballs and place them back in air fryer for 5 minutes or bake or warm in slow cooker.

This is the same Air Fryer I use at home. I cook with it almost everyday and we love it!

Turkey meatballs are great served with a side dish or used for meal prep. I will double the recipe and have them for several days during the week. Serve them rice, pasta, zucchini noodles, roasted veggies or even in a sandwich.

Enjoy!

    1. Question: Will these be firm enough to go, frozen, in a crock-pot with chili cranberry sauce? That’s our go to cocktail party snack, but I want to get away from the pre-made, frozen, beef, meatballs. The fat and sodium in those are brutal!

      1. I’ve made these meatballs several times and they are a family favorite! Great taste, healthy and easy on the pocketbook.. Easy to prep and clean-up.

These were very tasty. I put an Asian spin on them by adding Furakake (Japanese all purpose seasoning. ) Garlic powder and umami’s seasoning.
That’s turned out well but a little dry but had them with noodles and sauce so wasn’t an issue.

I had some ground turkey in the fridge and decided to try this recipe. They turned out great! Very flavorful. I didn’t have panko or any other breadcrumbs on hand so I substituted them by grinding up an equal amount of Organic rolled oats instead. I also added salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Yum! Only down side is that some of the meatballs stuck on the basket, despite me spraying the air fryer, lol. Otherwise, this recipe is a keeper.

The meatballs were fine but they made a total mess of the air fryer basket, drip pan and oven door. I didn’t see any great advantage to using the basket compared to baking them on the pan, so next time I will just bake them on the pan.

I mad these meatballs with ground chicken, let me tell you we are on WW and my husband said this is a keeper! He really liked them we had them with idohaon veggie mashed potatoes and pears. This was a win our hour!!!!

I made these with gluten free breadcrumbs and they turned out perfectly! I didn’t have any soy so I used Worcestershire sauce instead and added some Italian seasoning. They were delicious!

    1. Yes, you can substitute. I have actually even left the bread crumbs out before and they were good.

  5. I plan to try your Turkey Meatball recipe for my first meal in the Air Fryer I just brought.
However it only goes up to 390 degrees. I did a quick google and found two other recipes and they also say 400 degrees. Should I return this air fryer and get one and get one that goes up to 400°? It was on sale for $250 so it was not cheap and if it doesn’t do what I need.

    Thanks Pat

I’ve made these meatballs twice now. But I doubled and tripled the recipe so I could have something frozen and ready to go. I did change the panko breadcrumbs to multigrain breadcrumbs because we’re on the Mediterranean Diet. It does change the flavor somewhat but they’re still great. This recipe is a keeper.
