I love a good dip recipe and lately, sweet dips have become my newest obsession. There is something so satisfying about dipping your favorite snacks into a sweet, creamy dip. That is why I am loving this chocolate chip cheesecake dip. It’s rich, creamy, and packed with classic cheesecake flavor – minus the baking.

This dip is super versatile and can be served with a variety of dippers. My kids prefer dunking pretzels into the dip because of the sweet and salty combination. I like using graham crackers or strawberries but honestly I could just eat is with a spoon, it’s just that good!

If you would like more sweet dips be sure to try cream cheese fruit dip, Oreo fluff, toffee apple dip, and pineapple dip.

Heather’s recipe tips

  • Soften the cream cheese. You will want to soften the cream cheese before making this dip to help eliminate any lumps.
  • Soften the butter. Softening the butter helps to make it easier to cream together with the cream cheese.
  • Mix until creamy. Make sure to whip the ingredients together long enough to be creamy and easy to dip.

How to serve

This dip is so good you can eat it with a spoon but I do like serving it with dippers. A few favorites include:

  • Fruit – Strawberries, pineapple, apples, cantaloupe, and more
  • Chips – Pretzels and potato chips
  • Cookies – Oreos, Nilla Wafers, sugar cookies, and more
  • Graham crackers

Variations

There are so many ways to give this dip different flavors. Here are a few suggestions:

  • Toffee – Try adding toffee bits in dip.
  • Oreo – Add in 1/2 cup crushed Oreo cookies.
  • Mint chocolate chip – Add a drop or two of peppermint extract. You could even add in green food coloring.
  • Peanut butter chocolate chip – Mix in 2 tablespoons of peanut butter with the cream cheese.
  • Birthday cake – Stir in colorful sprinkles for a festive touch.
  • Nuts – Try stirring in peanuts, pecans, or walnuts for some crunch.

How to store chocolate chip dip

Store: Cover the dip or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4-5 days.

Serving: When ready to serve, remove the dip from the refrigerator for a few minutes to help it soften.

Freezing: I don’t recommend freezing this dip because the texture doesn’t hold up after it’s thawed.
