My churro snack mix is the perfect combination of crunchy and sweet. Made with Honeycomb cereal, this easy-to-make treat has all of the cinnamon sugar goodness of classic churros. It’s great for parties, movie nights, holidays, and more.
I love the combination of cinnamon and sugar so it’s no surprise that this churro snack mix is one of my favorites.
If you also love a sweet snack mix, I highly recommend that you make this recipe ASAP. It’s similar to this sweet Chex mix but with a cinnamon twist.
This snack mix has become a family favorite, especially around the holiday season. I’ll even package it up for teacher gifts and neighbor and friend gifts.

- Honeycomb cereal – I like using Honeycomb cereal for this mix because they are light, crunchy, and hold the cinnamon sugar well.

How to make churro snack mix

- Begin by preheating the oven to 350 degrees F and lining a baking sheet with parchment paper. Pour the cereal in a large bowl.
- Heat the butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup in a saucepan over medium heat. Make sure to constantly stir and let it come to a light boil. Boil for 1 minute.
- Remove from heat and stir in the baking soda and vanilla extract.
- Pour the mixture over the cereal and toss to coat. Spread the mixture out on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 4 minutes. Toss the cereal and bake another 4 minutes.
- Combine the cinnamon and sugar. Sprinkle of the cereal mixture. Let rest for about 30 minutes. Break apart into bite-sized pieces.

- Be careful not to burn the caramel. Make sure to bring the mixture to a soft boil over medium heat. It’s also important to constantly stir so it doesn’t burn.

There are few ways to make this snack mix your own. Here are a few suggestions.

- Cereal – You can substitute the Honeycombs with Chex or oyster crackers.

Churro Snack Mix
Ingredients

- 1/3 cup corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Pour the Honeycomb cereal in a large bowl.
- Place the butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup in a medium size saucepan. Warm over medium heat, making sure to constantly stir. Bring the mixture to a light, rolling boil for 1 minute.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla and baking soda.
- Pour the butter mixture over the cereal. Toss to completely coat. Spread the cereal out on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 4 minutes, carefully toss the cereal and then bake another 4 minutes.
- Stir the sugar and cinnamon together. Sprinkle of the cereal mixture. Let completely cool. Break apart to serve.
