Heather’s recipe tips

  • Line the baking pan. This helps to easily remove the brownies from the pan so you can cut them.
  • Don’t overmix the Dr. Pepper brownie batter. This will help you get the best brownie texture.
  • Don’t overbake. For the best fudgy texture, don’t overbake the brownies.
  • Let the brownies cool before cutting. Letting them completely cool will help you cut them.

Variations

Nuts – If you like a little crunch, stir in about 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts.

You will notice that the edges might start to pull away from the pan. If you do the toothpick test, you might notice some melted chocolate chips on the toothpick but there shouldn’t be batter.

Do the brownies taste like Dr. Pepper?

There is just the slightest hint of Dr. Pepper flavor. The soda just enhances the chocolate flavor and gives them great texture.
