One of the first things I made when I got my air fryer was frozen fries. The hot air circulating around the fries produces perfectly crispy fries on the outside and tender on the inside.

There are many advantages to making curly fries in the air fryer:

  • No extra oil is needed.
  • They cook fast. No preheating and cook straight from frozen to get crispy fries in 10 minutes.
  • Easy clean-up.

French fry lovers be sure to try:

What you need

Frozen curly fries – Choose your favorite regular curly fries or zesty curly fries like Ore-Ida. I’m using Arby’s curly fries in these pictures.

Air fryer – This recipe was made with a Cosori air fryer but there are many wonderful brands on the market.

Optional – Many curly fries already come seasoned but for the plain ones you can add your own seasoning like seasoned salt of this homemade French fry seasoning.

How to make frozen curly fries in air fryer

No need for extra oil for these fries. They have already been fried and then frozen so they already have enough oil in them to produce crispy fries.

Step one: Spread frozen curly fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket.

Step two: Cook at 400 degrees F for 5 minutes. Shake the basket or flip the fries over and cook another 5 minutes. (This will be a total cook time of 10 minutes.)

Step three: Check the fries to see if they are cooked to your desired crispiness. If not, cook another 1-3 minutes. Serve warm.

How to serve

Air fryer curly fries make a wonderful side dish or appetizer. Try serving them with things like chicken sandwiches, popcorn chicken, or even meatloaf.

They are also great served with dipping sauces like:

Recipe tips

If you want to make the entire bag, you might need to cook in 2-3 batches depending on the size of your air fryer.

I’m making frozen Arby’s curly fries in the air fryer in these pictures using a 5.8 quart air fryer. This recipe works for all frozen curly fries.

Adding seasoning? Be sure to sprinkle it on immediately after they finish cooking.

To prevent soggy curly fries, cook from frozen. Don’t let them thaw first.

How to reheat

Have leftovers? Let the fries completely cool and then store in an airtight bag or container. To reheat, place them back in the air fryer basket and cook at 400 for 3-4 minutes or until heated through.
