Grab your maple syrup and let’s get cooking.
How to reheat pancakes in the toaster
The toaster is probably the best way to reheat pancakes from the refrigerator or from frozen. The pancakes turn out a little crisp on the outside, warm and fluffy texture on the inside. This is also a wonderful method if you just need to warm up a single pancake.
- Place pancake in the toaster and set to a level similar to what you would use for toast or a bagel. I recommend a medium-high setting like 6 or 7. They will take approximately 1 – 1.5 minutes to cook. If you are making from frozen, they might need to cook a little longer.
***Tip: If your pancakes have a filling like chocolate chips or berries, you will want to avoid using the toaster because they will melt and could possibly cause the toaster to smoke.
How to reheat pancakes in the air fryer
The air fryer is a wonderful kitchen appliance that can be used for a wide variety of things. It’s great to reheat food, even pancakes. It produces similar results to the toaster method in that it gets the pancakes a little crispy on the outside while keeping the warm and fluffy on the inside.
- Place pancakes in the air fryer basket in a single layer for even cooking.
- Air fry at 350 degrees for 2-3 minutes.
- Serve warm.
How to reheat pancakes in the oven
This is an easy oven method and great if you need to reheat several at one time for a crowd.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Place desired number of pancakes on a baking sheet in a single layer.
- Cover the pan with foil to help prevent the tops from burning. Cook for 5-7 minutes.
***Tip: For a little added moisture, brush a little melted butter over the pancakes before reheating.
How to reheat pancakes on the stove
Use a frying pan to reheat pancakes on the stove.
- Turn burner on low and place pancakes in a pan. Keep flipping the pancakes until warmed through, about 3-4 minutes.
***Tip: Make sure not to have the heat up too high because it may burn the pancakes. You can also brush with melted butter for added flavor.
How to reheat pancakes in the microwave
Microwaving is a great way to warm up in seconds but probably my least favorite way to reheat. This method does get them hot but can cause the pancakes to become tough and soggy if they are not eaten immediately.
- Place a paper towel on a microwave safe plate.
- Place pancakes on the plate. I would recommend reheating 1-4 at a time to ensure even cooking.
- Lay another paper towel on top of the pancakes and microwave for about 10-15 seconds per pancake.
How to store leftover pancakes
Store: If you have leftover’s and plan on eating them in the next few days, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Make sure to let them completely cool down before storing. They will last 3-4 days is stored properly.
Freeze: To freeze pancakes, let them completely cool to room temperature first. Place a piece of parchment paper or wax paper on a baking sheet and put the pancakes on the lined pan.
Place the pan in the freezer for at least one hour or until they are frozen. Place the frozen pancakes in a freezer safe container or freezer bag. To help prevent them from sticking together, place a piece of parchment or wax paper in between in pancake in the container. You can keep them in the freezer for up to 3 months.
