My air fryer pumpkin seeds make a delicious, crunchy snack. With so many seasoning possibilities, you can easily customize to your taste. This recipe gives you a simple, step-by-step guide for perfectly roasted pumpkin seeds.

I love using my air fryer for so many things, even roasting pumpkin seeds. This method is fast, easy, and gives you perfectly crunchy seeds. All you need are the seeds and your favorite seasoning to make a fun snack that the whole family is sure to enjoy.

How to Clean Pumpkin Seeds
In order to have delicious pumpkin seeds, you need to clean them first. Begin by separating them from the pumpkin pulp.
Place them in a colander and rinse under cold water. Give the colander a shake to remove excess water. Pat the seeds dry with a paper towel.
How to Roast Pumpkin Seeds in the Air Fryer
- Begin by cleaning the pumpkin seeds. Make sure to remove all of the pulp, rinse them, and then completely dry.
- Next, boil the pumpkin seeds in salted water for 10 minutes. This helps cook them inside a little before roasting. The salted water also helps to add flavor.
- Dry the seeds on paper towels. I would recommend letting them dry for at least 20 minutes before roasting.
- Mix the pumpkin seeds in a bowl with the olive oil and seasoned salt. (If you would prefer a different seasoning, use that instead.
- Spread the seeds out in a thin layer in the air fryer. Roast at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

- It’s important to let the seeds dry. I like to press them with a paper towel to ensure all of the water is off of them.
- Make sure that the seeds are spread out into an even layer in the air fryer basket. This helps to cook evenly. You might need to cook in 2 batches depending on how many you have.
- I recommend tossing the seeds around halfway through cooking time to make sure the cook evenly.
How to roast pumpkin seeds in the oven
If you don’t have an air fryer, clean and boil the seeds. Toss them in the oil and seasonings and then place on a baking sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes, depending on how crunchy you like them.

- 1 1/2 cups pumpkin seeds
- 1 tablespoon olive oil

- Remove seeds from pumpkin and remove as much pulp as you can. Place in a colander. Rinse to remove pumpkin pulp from seeds.
- Fill a large pot with water and 1 teaspoon of salt. Bring to a boil. Boil seeds in water for 10 minutes, then drain.
- Allow pumpkin seeds to dry on paper towels for about 30 minutes. Make sure they are totally dry before roasting.
- In a bowl, mix together olive oil and seasoned salt. Stir in the pumpkin seeds.
- Pour the pumpkin seeds into an air fryer basket and be sure to spread them out.
- Air Fry on 350 degrees F for 7 minutes. Toss the seeds around and cook at 350 degrees F for another 7-8 minutes.
