My pizza dip recipe is a favorite party appetizer. It’s made with a herbed cream cheese mixture that is topped with melted cheese and pizza toppings. I made this recipe to be fast, simple, and satisfying. A must try dip recipe for your next gathering.
I’m a mom of picky eaters so I know the struggle of finding recipes that everyone will eat and enjoy. That’s why this pizza dip is a go-to for gatherings and even family dinners. It’s similar to this pizza bowl, but with a creamy base that is perfect for a dip.

- Mozzarella cheese – I recommend freshly shredding your cheese because it melts the best.
- Parmesan cheese – Grated parmesan is mixed into the cream cheese mixture.
- Pizza sauce – Use your favorite pizza sauce or marinara sauce.
- Pepperoni – Pepperoni is a great topping but feel free to add or substitute with your favorite pizza toppings.
How to make this pizza dip recipe

Step one: Put the softened cream cheese, sour cream, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder in a bowl. Mix with an electric mixer.
Step two: Stir in half of the shredded mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Spread in a baking dish.
Step three: Spread with pizza sauce or marinara sauce. Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese and pepperoni. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
Step four: Serve the dip warm.

- Double the recipe. If you are making this for a larger crowd, you can double the recipe and put in a 9 x 13 baking dish.
Variations
One thing I like about this dip recipe is that it’s easy to customize. You can change up the cheese or toppings to make it your own. Here are a few of my favorite variations:

This might sound crazy, but I also like to drizzle a little homemade ranch on top of this dip for even more flavor.
How to store
Keep any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It will last 4-5 days.
It can be reheated in the microwave or in the oven.
I don’t recommend freezing this dip. The texture is not the same after it’s thawed.

Yes, if you would like to keep this dip warm for a party it can be made in a slow cooker. Mix the cream cheese, sour cream, seasonings, and half of the mozzarella together. Place in a slow cooker that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Cook for 2-3 hours. Top with more mozzarella cheese and pepperoni. Let cook another 15-20 minutes before serving.
Yes, you can assemble this dip the day before, cover and refrigerate. When you are ready to bake, uncover and bake at 350 degrees F. You might need to bake a few extra minutes if the dip is cold when it goes in the oven.
You can use a pie plate, or an 8×8 baking dish.

Ingredients
- 1 8 ounce cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, divided
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce or pizza sauce
- 25 slices pepperoni
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9-inch pie plate with non-stick cooking spray.
- Place softened cream cheese, sour cream, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder in a large bowl. Mix with an electric mixer until creamy.
- Stir in 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and the parmesan cheese.
- Spread the mixture in the prepared pie plate. Spread marinara sauce over the mixture.
- Top with the remaining 1 cup of shredded mozzarella and then with pepperoni.
- ***You can add your favorite pizza toppings to this dip.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese has melted.
