Ingredients needed
- Sub rolls – Choose sub rolls or crusty bread rolls.
- Pizza sauce – Use your favorite pizza sauce or marinara sauce.
- Cheese – You can use shredded or sliced mozzarella cheese. It’s also great with sliced provolone cheese.
- Italian seasoning – Used to add extra flavor to the sandwiches.

How to make pizza subs
Step one: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment or foil for easy cleanup. Place the open the sub rolls and place each half on the baking sheet.
Step two: Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce on each half of the sub. Top each half with cheese.

Step three: Add toppings on one side of each sandwich and then sprinkle with Italian seasonings.

Step four: Bake for 4-5 minutes or until cheese melts. Place the top half of each sandwich on the bottom half and serve warm.

How to store leftover sub sandwiches
Store: If you end up having leftover sandwiches, let them cool and wrap in foil or place in an airtight container. Keep them in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can reheat them in the oven at 350 degrees for 5-10 minutes.

Cheese – Try substituting mozzarella with provolone cheese, Monterey Jack, or cheddar cheese.

Pizza Subs
Ingredients
- 4 sub rolls
- 1 cup pizza sauce (about 1/4 cup per sub)
- 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 20 slices pepperoni
- 1 small bell pepper sliced thin
- 1/4 cup red onion sliced thin
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
- Open the sub rolls and place them on the lined baking sheet. Spread pizza sauce on each half of the roll. Top each half with shredded cheese.
- Add toppings, pepperoni, peppers, and onion on one side of each sub roll. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
- Bake for 4-5 minutes or until cheese melts. Place the top half of sub roll on the bottom roll to make a sandwich.
