This delicious salami pizza recipe is sure to be a hit at your next pizza night. This is a simple recipe that I love to make for my family when we are craving a delicious pizza. Pizza crust is topped with sauce, salami, onions, cheese, and spices to make one tasty meal.
Homemade pizza can be easy to make at home, especially with the help of a few shortcuts like premade pizza dough and sauce. It’s such a fun and simple meal to make for a family night or game night.
My kids always love pepperoni pizza so I thought I would change it up a little by substituting salami. They are similar in taste and texture but the thin sliced salami gives you just a slightly different, wonderful flavor. It was a huge success! Everyone loved it and wanted me to use these toppings for our next pizza night.
Salami pizza ingredients
Salami – You can use an Italian salami like Genoa salami or a simple hard salami.
Red onions – I like the color and flavor from red onions but you can also substitute with sweet Vidalia onions.
Italian seasonings
Parmesan cheese – I recommend using grated Parmesan but you can also use shredded.
Mozzarella cheese – Shredded, low-moisture mozzarella cheese.
Sauce – You can use a homemade marinara or store bought pizza sauce.
Crust – Use your favorite homemade pizza dough or pre-made dough. You can typically find pre-made dough at the grocery store in the bakery section or you can even buy it from your favorite local pizza restaurant.
Cornmeal – This is optional but makes a nice addition to the flavor and texture of the crust.
