Slow cooker beer beef sliders

I am sure this has been mentioned many times before on the blog but we are HUGE football fans. College, professional, we watch it all. January is always an exciting time in our house with the playoffs leading up to the big game. We treat the day of the big game like a holiday and like all holidays, my favorite part is the food.

Today I want to share with you one of the best game day sandwiches you will ever put in your mouth. Tender beef cooked in Warsteiner Premium German Pilsener (or any other pilsner), shredded and then put on a Pepperidge Farm Bakery Classics Sweet & Soft Slider Bun. Score!

One of the key ingredients in this sandwich is the Warsteiner Premium German Pilsener. Warsteiner is one of Germany’s leading premium pilsener brands and has been family-owned since 1753. I enjoy this beer because it is a refreshing, pale gold with a clean, crisp taste making it wonderful to drink and to use in recipes.

The Pepperidge Farm slider buns are a great size for these sandwiches. I usually end up eating two or three throughout the game. These slider buns definitely make every tailgate more delicious!

The slow cooker beer beef sliders are a take on the popular Mississippi pot roast. Start by placing a chuck roast in the slow cooker. Pour in a pack of ranch seasoning mix and a pack of aus jus seasoning. Add butter, peperoncinis and beer. Cook for 6-8 hours depending on slow cooker settings.

Once the beef is cooked shred it and return to slow cooker. Place meat on buns and add a piece of provolone and extra peperoncinis.

This recipe has a lot going for it-beer, buns, great flavor and a slow cooker. Put the ingredients in your slow cooker the morning of game day and it will be ready just before the game starts.
