The holiday season is fast approaching and I am already dreaming about all of the delicious food and drinks to add to my entertaining menu. One thing I enjoy creating are special mocktails so all of my guests feel like they can be a part of the festivities.

This cranberry mocktail is one of my favorites to make because of the fizzy, festive bubbles. Sparkling lime water gives this drink a refreshing, crispy taste, along with adding a touch of sparkly bubbles.

I made an easy cranberry simple syrup to make this mocktail extra special. It’s so simple to make and can be saved for other drinks. I finished the drink with a skewer of sugared cranberries and a twist of lime for a special touch.

Why you’ll love this recipe

  • Great for every guest. This drink is perfect for people of all ages.
  • Festive and delicious. Not only does this drink have a beautiful red color and bubbles, but it tastes delicious.
  • Easy but special. This is a simple recipe with few ingredients but it has a special feel that will impress your guests.

Ingredients

  • Cranberries – You can use fresh or thawed, frozen cranberries.
  • Sugar – Granulated sugar is needed to make the simply syrup.
  • Water – Used for the syrup.
  • Lime sparkling water – Choose your favorite sparkling water. If you can’t find lime flavor, you can use plain sparkling water and add fresh lime juice.

Heather’s recipe tips and variations

  • Make it a cocktail. You can add a splash of vodka for a festive cocktail.
  • Bubbles. If you would like to use something other than sparkling water, substitute with ginger-ale, Sprite, or ginger beer.
  • Garnish ideas. You can add sugared cranberries, lime wedges, frozen cranberries, or a sprig of fresh rosemary.
  • Large batch. You can make this in a pitcher by pouring in all of the simple syrup into a pitcher. Top with soda water.

Storage

I recommend storing the cranberry simple syrup in a jar or container in the refrigerator until ready to use. It will last up to 1 week.
