I am sharing this easy copycat Taco Bell cheese sauce that can be made at home in about 5 minutes. No need to leave your house, you can make this with just 3 ingredients. Use it to add flavor for nachos, burritos, potatoes, and more.
If you are like me, every now and then I get a craving for Taco Bell but don’t feel like going out. No problem because it’s easy to get the flavor with my Taco Bell copycat recipes like Taco Bell chicken quesadilla, bean burrito, breakfast quesadilla, their quesadilla sauce, and this nacho cheese sauce.
Warm and delicious, this sauce is perfect for a taco dinner or just a snack. It’s also so simple to make with just a few ingredients.
Ingredients
You only need 3 ingredients to make this copycat Taco Bell nacho cheese.
- Cheese dip – Cheez Whiz cheese dip has a great taste and is already deliciously creamy. A better alternative to the powdered cheese that Taco Bell uses for their sauce.
- Pickled jalapeno brine – This is the juice from a jar of pickled jalapenos. It adds a nice flavor and a little spice to the sauce.
- Milk – Helps to thin out the sauce and give it an extra creamy texture.
How to make Taco Bell Cheese Sauce

- Add the whole jar of Cheez Whiz, milk, and brine into a bowl.
- Whisk it together until fully combined.
Heather’s recipe tips
- If you can’t find Cheez Whiz brand, any cheese dip will work. You could even melt a block of Velveeta cheese.
- This sauce can be served room temperature or warm. If you like it hot, place it in a microwave safe bowl and heat in 20 second increments to your liking.
- Want your sauce extra spicy? Try adding a drop or two of your favorite hot sauce like Tabasco. You could also dice up some pickled jalapenos and stir them into the sauce.
- This recipe is made for about 4-6 servings. You can cut the recipe in half for a smaller portion.
How to serve nacho cheese sauce
The restaurant serves their cheese sauce with a bag of tortilla chips. It’s also great with nachos, tacos, enchiladas, roasted potatoes, nacho fries, soft pretzels, even drizzled on broccoli or cauliflower.
How to store If you have leftover sauce you can store it in an airtight, sealed container in the refrigerator for one week.
Reheat the sauce in a microwave safe container in 30 second intervals until it reaches the desired hotness. It can also be reheated in a small saucepan over low heat on the stove.

Ingredients
- 1 15 oz jar Cheez Whiz cheese dip or another jarred cheese dip
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1/4 cup pickled jalapeno brine (juice from the jar)
