I am all about a good dip, especially a sweet dessert dip. This toffee apple dip is one that I love to make during the fall because it’s the perfect pairing with apples.

If you are a fan of caramel apple dip like I am, you will love this dip too. It has the same rich, sweet vibe without the caramel sauce.

Why you’ll love this recipe

  • Fast to make. You can whip this dip up in minutes making it perfect for a last minute treat.
  • Crowd favorite. Every time I bring this dip to a gathering, someone asks for the recipe.
  • Customizable. It’s easy to adjust the amount of toffee bits to this recipe. You can also make it your own by adding in mini chocolate chips, nuts, marshmallows, or even a drizzle of caramel sauce.

Ingredients

  • Cream cheese – Make sure to let your cream cheese soften before making the dip.
  • Light brown sugar – This adds a touch of sweetness to the dip.
  • Vanilla extract – Adds a warm, vanilla flavor to the dip.
  • Toffee bits – Toffee bits add great texture and flavor.

Heather’s recipe tips

Variations

  • Candy: Toffee bits really make this dip but you can substitute with different candy like
  • Sugar: Light brown sugar gives this dip a great flavor but you could substitute with dark brown sugar, powdered sugar, or white granulated sugar.
  • Nuts: If you want even more crunch, try topping with chopped pecans.
  • Spices: Try adding in a pinch of cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice for an extra burst of flavor.

Frequently asked questions

How do you prevent apple slices from turning brown?

There are a couple of options to keep your apples from browning. You can place the apple slices in a cup water with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Let soak for about 5 minutes. You could also place the slices in a cup of water with 1/2 teaspoon of salt. You can rinse the apple slices off before serving.

Can I make this dip ahead of time?

Yes, you can make the dip a day or two ahead of time. I recommend letting it sit out at room temperature for about 15 minutes before serving to help soften the cream cheese.
