Whipped Sweet Potatoes
Creamy whipped sweet potatoes are a delicious side dish. Cooked sweet potatoes are whipped to perfection with butter and cinnamon.

- 3-4 large sweet potatoes
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Clean off the sweet potatoes.
Place the potatoes on a rimmed baking sheet. Pierce the tops with a fork.
Bake for about 45 - 60 minutes or until fork tender. Carefully cut the sweet potatoes in half and scoop flesh into a large bowl. Use an electric mixer or food processor to whip.
Mix in butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt and pepper, and mix again until fully whipped and combined.
Serve warm. Optional, sprinkle with grou
- Don't have a hand held mixer, you can use a potato masher, stand mixer or food processor.
- I recommend baking or air frying the sweet potatoes because it really brings out the naturally sweet flavor of the potato.
- Baking time might vary depending on the size of the sweet potato. If they are smaller, I recommend checking them at 30 minutes.
- Don't want to heat up the oven? Try cooking the sweet potatoes in the air fryer at 400 degrees for 40 minutes.
- To make them super creamy, add a little extra heavy cream and whip for several 3-4 minutes.
