Optional: If you would like a buttered bun, lightly brush melted butter on the hot dog buns.
If you would like toasted hot dog buns, place each cooked hot dog in a bun. Place the whole bun and hot dog in the air fryer basket. Cooke for 1-2 minutes.
Add your favorite toppings and serve.
- No need to preheat the air fryer for this recipe.
- Don't forget to cut the slits using a sharp knife. This is an important step because it helps the hot dogs cook evenly and helps prevent bursting.
- Place the hot dogs in a single layer in the basket. You can fit as many as you like, just make sure to leave a little room around each hot dog so that it cooks evenly.
- If you like your hot dog a little more done, add another 1-2 minutes to the cook time.
- Try brushing the buns with melted butter before toasting for extra flavor and a perfectly toasted bun.
