Banana Pudding Ice Cream

Cold, creamy, delicious homemade banana pudding ice cream is a tasty take on a classic dessert. Vanilla ice cream is infused with ripe bananas and crumbled vanilla wafer cookies to make this a frozen treat you can’t resist.

Ingredients

  • 2 bananas
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup mini Nilla wafer cookies, crumbled

Instructions

  • Warm the half and half and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves, about 3 minutes.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in heavy whipping cream, vanilla extract, salt and mashed bananas.
  • Pour the chilled ice cream mixture into an ice cream maker and churn 20 minutes or according to the ice cream manufacturer’s instructions.
  • When there are 2 minutes left of churning, pour in crushed vanilla wafer cookies and continue churning to combine.
  • Spoon the ice cream into a freezer safe container. Cover and freeze for at least 4 hours before serving.
  • Optional, you can top the ice cream with extra vanilla wafer cookies and sliced banana.
