Italian Pinwheels Recipe

Italian pinwheels are full of delicious Italian flavor. A cream cheese mixture is topped with salami, pepperoni, and cheese and rolled up in a tortilla. These pinwheels make a great cold appetizer or meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 large tortillas
  • 1 8 ounch cream cheese, softened
  • 0.7 ounce Italian dressing seasoning Good Seasons brand
  • ½ cup roasted red peppers, diced
  • ¼ cup pepperoncini, diced
  • 14 slices hard salami
  • 40 small pepperoni or 7 large sliced of pepperoni
  • 6 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

  • Place softened cream cheese in a mixer bowl with the Italian seasoning mix. Whip until creamy.
  • Stir in the chopped roasted red peppers and pepperoncini until combined.
  • Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over a tortilla. Layer on half of the salami and pepperoni.
  • Lay 3 pieces of provolone cheese down the center of the tortilla. Roll up the tortilla tightly and then cover with plastic wrap.
  • Place the wrapped tortillas in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Softened the cream cheese. Make sure you take time to soften the cream cheese at room temperature. This helps it not be lumpy and makes it easier to spread over the tortilla.
  • Dice into small pieces. Make sure to dice the roasted red peppers and pepperoncinis into small pieces.
  • Roll tight. You want to roll the tortillas as tight as possible. This helps to make sure there isn't a hole in the center of the pinwheel.
  • Chill the rolls. Allow time for the pinwheel rolls to chill before slicing. This helps them stay together when slicing.
