Servings: 1 cup
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon ground mustard
Place the ketchup, brown sugar, and ground mustard in a bowl.
Whisk together until fully combined.
If using on a meatloaf, spread the sauce in an even layer on top of the meatloaf when it has about 15 minutes left of cook time. This will give the sauce a chance to caramelize.
- If you prefer to wait and put the sauce on after the meatloaf has completely finished cooking, I recommend heating this sauce in a small saucepan until the brown sugar dissolves.
- You might have leftovers depending on the size of your meatloaf. You can serve any extra sauce on the side or save for later.
- Mustard: If you don't have ground mustard you can substitute with yellow mustard or Dijon mustard if you like extra tang.
- Seasoning: Amp up the flavor even more by adding in 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder or red pepper flakes for heat.
