- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tablespoon butter

- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
Wash of the squash with water and pat dry with paper towel.
Cut the squash in half. To make it easier to cut, microwave the whole squash for 1-2 minutes before slicing in half.
Scoop out seeds with spoon and discard.
Place squash halves cut side down into a small baking dish. Microwave for 10-12 minutes.
If you want a simple, savory acorn squash, flip the squash cut side up and sprinkle with a little salt and pepper and serve. For sweet squash, flip cut side up and add butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. Cook for another 1-2 minutes in the microwave to melt the butter. Serve.
