- 1 16 ounce box angel food cake mix
- 1 20 ounce can crushed pineapple with the juice
- 1 16 ounce frozen whipped topping thawed, optional
Preheat the oven 350 degrees F.
Pour the angel food cake mix and can of crushed pineapple in a mixing bowl. Mix together until combined.
Spread the batter in a 9 x 13 baking dish. Bake for 25 minutes or until the top turns golden brown.
Let the cake completely cool. If using thawed frozen whipped topping, spread over the cake.
- No need to spray the cake baking dish. Pour the batter into an ungreased cake dish.
- Don't let the batter sit long. This cake batter will start to rise so as soon as it's mixed, spread out into the cake dish and then bake.
- Be sure not to over mix the cake batter.
- Use a serrated knife to cut the cake.
- Feel free to add extra toppings like shredded coconut, sprinkles, pineapple tidbits, or even maraschino cherries.
